Former Rangers striker Kris Boyd has applauded Alex Iwobi for his outstanding assist in Fulhams 2-1 defeat to Brighton at the American Express Stadium.

The assist brought Iwobis goal contribution tally for the season to eleven seven goals and four assists in 33 matches across all competitions. However, Fulhams lead was short-lived as Jan Paul van Hecke equalized with a header just six minutes later, and João Pedro sealed Brightons win with a late penalty.

Boyd, speaking on Sky Sports Soccer Saturday, praised iwobi's contribution but highlighted Jiménezs composed finish:

"It's a top finish. The ball from Iwobi is good, but the finish is better. He chests the ball down before firing a left-footed strike into the back of the net," Boyd said.

Iwobi, who has been a key performer for Fulham this season, was substituted in the 89th minute for Ryan Sessegnon. His form has earned him a spot in the Super Eagles' 39-man squad for Nigerias 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe.

Alex Iwobi continues to prove his value as one of Nigerias top creative midfielders, delivering key moments in big games. His ability to drive forward, create space, and provide accurate final balls is one of Fulhams greatest attacking assets.

Iwobi played a crucial role in Raul Jiménezs 35th-minute opener, carrying the ball from his half down the right flank before delivering a perfectly timed pass to the Mexican forward. Jiménez controlled it on his chest and finished with a low shot past Brightons goalkeeper, Bart Verbruggen.

Despite Fulhams inconsistent season, Iwobi has maintained a high level of performance, further his role in the Super Eagles squad. Nigeria will need his vision and creativity in the upcoming World Cup qualifiers, where he could be a game changer against Rwanda and Zimbabwe.
